How to Remember Save-A-Pet in your Estate Plan
Beneficiary Designations allow you to name individuals and/or organizations as full or partial beneficiaries of an account. These gifts can be put in place by completing a simple form with your provider and do not require the assistance of an attorney. These may include:
- Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
- Donor Advised Funds
- Bank Account(s)
- Money Market Account(s)
- Life Insurance Policy
Bequests are gifts through a will or living trust, and include transfers of cash, securities or other property. They are an easy and flexible way to provide support of Save-A-Pet’s true no-kill mission.
When you choose to name Save-A-Pet in your estate plan, we should be listed as:
“Save-A-Pet, Inc., a non-profit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the state of Illinois, with a principal business address of 31664 N. Fairfield Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. Federal Tax identification number: 23-7304570.”
The following is sample bequest verbiage that may be helpful. Of course, always consult an attorney when preparing legal documents.
A fixed amount of money or a designated property:
“I give to Save-A-Pet, Inc. (tax identification number 23-7304570), located in Grayslake, IL, $_________ (or describe the real or personal property, including exact location)
A percentage of the estate:
“I give to Save-A-Pet, Inc. (tax ID # 23-7304570), located in Grayslake, IL, ________% of my estate.”
A residual bequest:
“I give all the residue of my estate, including real and personal property, to Save-A-Pet, Inc. (tax identification number 23-7304570), located in Grayslake, IL.
