We have three main goals: rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome. With donations from generous people like you, we have helped over 66,000 animals have a second chance at life! Make a difference in the life of an animal by donating today.
Volunteers with a wide variety of backgrounds donate many hours of service helping our staff in various departments in supporting the needs of our organization. If you enjoy being around both people and animals, we’d love for you to join our team and share our passion for our unique no-kill mission.
We operate under the motto of “Help, Heal, Home.”
Save-A-Pet is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and one of the largest no-kill cat and dog rescues in Lake County that operates a full-time adoption center. We provide a safe haven for abused, neglected, injured, lost, or animals that have escaped euthanasia.
We will never put a limit on the amount of care we will provide for an animal and we never give up on them. Thus, Save-A-Pet offers rescued dogs and cats the greatest opportunity for a second chance. We take great pride in practicing our no-kill mission and in stewarding our donors’ contributions; both of which have led to the successful adoption of over 66,000 dogs and cats.
We are completely in love in Laney (Elaine). We renamed her Laney. She is the sweetest girl ever and fits in perfectly with our family. She loves walks, playing and squeaky toys. We are so happy we found her. Thanks for everything!
Everything is going great! We did change Avery’s name to Dizzy, as per my 5 year olds request lol, and she answers to it just fine. She has made the house her's and gotten our other cat Freya to play and everything. Thanks again for the wonderful experience we had with your volunteers.
