Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Save-A-Pet!

Save-A-Pet is currently accepting new volunteers for the below activities:

Our Feline Care volunteers support the Feline Care Staff with the care of the cats in the adoption center. This includes helping reduce the stress the cats in the adoption rooms by socializing with them and/or assisting with light cleaning.

Our Canine Care volunteers assist staff by walking the dogs in our dog walking area at the back of the adoption center, socializing with them in a fenced-in play area, and helping with light cleaning are some of the ways you can help  in the adoption center.

How to Become a Volunteer

In order to become an active volunteer with Save-A-Pet, you must first complete the Volunteer Application within our volunteer system. The Volunteer Application will be made available in late spring when additional trainings are scheduled.

Once the application is submitted, and the volunteer registration fee is paid, you will receive an email to schedule a virtual volunteer orientation. This orientation will be approximately 1-hour long, will be conducted via Zoom, and will provide an introduction to Save-A-Pet, including who we are and what we do.

After the orientation, you will attend a training session either at the Save-A-Pet facility, or at PetSmart, depending on your area of interest.

*At this time, there are no volunteer opportunities for anyone under 18 years of age.

These volunteers help support a wide variety of opportunities to raise money for our organization and our residents. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to be part of a special team that allows us to do some of the most amazing rescues and to provide some of our residents with the best vet care.
