Justice was served today as area resident Elvin Dooley was sentenced to 20 months in jail for shooting a defenseless dog that Save-A-Pet was trying to rescue. Click HERE for media coverage.

Thank you again to all who played a role in the Justice incident: Save-A-Pet staff members who attempted to catch him at SAP, to those who eventually recovered him, to the police officers, to the Lake County State's Attorney's Office, to the jurors who served during Dooley's trial. Everyone involved played an integral and vital role and served as a testament to the fact that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our community.

Please join Save-A-Pet and the Antioch Chamber of Commerce on Saturday August 21st for Caribbean Dogs on Parade--a special event whose proceeds benefit Save-A-Pet!

This dog-friendly parade includes contests for the best dressed, the most comical, etc. for your Caribbean canines! We'll parade the sidewalks of Downtown Antioch for treats for dogs and handlers alike.

Check in at the bandshell at 10:00AM, and the fun begins at 11. Registration is $5.00, and funds will go to Save-A-Pet.

It costs Save-A-Pet $1,000 per year to care for a healthy resident. We currently house over 350...and care for an average of 1,200 animals per year. Supply donations truly make a difference in helping us manage our costs, and allow us to use the maximum amount of money possible for resident health care and adoption marketing.
