I adopted this wonderful guy from Save a Pet on July 8th of this year. You might remember him as Dr. Llama. His new name is Jake and he is the light of my life. He has a great backyard to play in and sleeps with me in my bed (although he is a bit of a bed hog at times). He’s a big love bug and we like to chase each other around the house. You can see how proud he is of his new haircut in the before and after pictures attached.
Thanks Save-a-Pet for rescuing this sweetie so we could find each other!
Regards,
Genelle

We came to look at Wendy in March of 2007. She was adorable but we decided to take a few days to think about adopting her. When we called later that week, she had been adopted. We took it as a sign and focused on our upcoming wedding on May 5, 2007.
After our wedding, we decided we wanted to adopt a dog as a wedding present to ourselves. Imagine our surprise when we opened up Save-a-Pet's website and saw that Wendy had been returned! She had been adopted into a multi-dog home and was just not happy.
We raced over there and brought her home!
She's been with us for the past 4 years and we cannot remember our life without her. She's got such a personality and loves being around us, and is happiest when we're all home together cuddling on the couch. She's still got plenty of that beagle mischief too!
Thanks, Save-a-Pet, for helping to complete our new family.

Sarah and Brendon
Eggbert

We have had Eggbert three weeks as of today and he is doing great! Formerly a shy little boy who hid from volunteers, Eggbert now strusts his stuff in the house and takes no nonsense from his wheaten brother Bentley or his schnauzer brother Clancy. He is very secure in his family pack but still is afraid of new people and new dogs, but we are working on that.
He has so many endearing habits! He is very cat-like and can jump onto chairs and low tables, and likes to nap on a kitchen chair that is pushed under the table, as if sleeping in a drawer! He is presently sitting behind me in the computer chair, and from there if I start the printer, he will jump onto the desk and stick his head in the printer. He barks at cell phones and always alerts his mom when her phone is ringing. Eggbert arrived pretty well housebroken, for which we are grateful. He walks across end tables and steals pens, socks, shoes, anything that looks interesting. In this picture he is napping curled up against his brother Clancy. He is not yappy at all and will only bark occasionally, and only at certain things. We are thrilled to have Eggbert and we thank Save-A-Pet for bringing him to us.

Faleen (new name is Fallon) is doing wonderful!!!! She is so happy with us. She sleeps with us in bed every night. She has a lot of energy and is always playing with us or her millions of toys. She is completely potty trained, even bell trained!!!!! Very smart girl!!!!! She is a lover, always wants to be with us. In fact we take her with us most of the time to run errands because she loves the car so much. She is a total trip, always has us cracking up. One of her favorite things is ice cubes!!!! She acts like they are toys, throwing them up in the air and catching them before she settles down to eat them. She gets along so well with our ferrets and our cat. She also gets along with other dogs in the neighborhood and all people including children she meets. All in all she is the perfect dog for our family. We love her dearly and she brings so much joy to our lives!!! Thank u so much save a pet!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sincerely---Tracey and James

Wolfy settled right in and quickly became a part of our family. He is so smart and loving, we feel lucky to have him. Splash (his much older big sister) sleeps most of the day, but moves around more since Wolfy’s arrival. He could not seem to let her rest the first day, but with just a little guidance from his new mom and dad he learned to treat her gently. He occasionally lies next to her and waits for her to stir. He gets plenty of attention from his new mom and dad though. He loves to go for walks and plays fetch for hours on end. He loves the new toys that squeak the most and brings them to us when he is ready to play. In fact, when he goes outside to potty (by the way he has not had one accident in the house), all we have to do is squeak a toy and he comes running.
Wolfy did challenge us a few times and we expect more, but he can’t stand to make us unhappy. If we tell him “no” he runs to our feet and lays down showing his belly. He is not as demanding as we thought he might be. When we are tired of throwing the toys to fetch, he will come next to us on the couch and sit quietly as long as he is near us he seems happy. If we get busy, Wolfy has already learned where his bed is and that it is his bed and goes to it until we are settled. The second we sit down, he is back at our side. He also loves to ride in the car and we often take him along to the store.
Thank you so much for bringing Wolfy into our lives,
Robin Cooper

We were “Cat People”. We had adopted Olivia (SAP name Intuition) a few years back, and were good with knowing that at a moments notice, with a bowl of food, some water, and a phone call to a friend to drop by, that we could take off for the weekend, a night out, or a short trip out of town.
Then we met Shiloh. (SAP name Somerset). Love at first sight! Diabetic? No problem. 3 times a day meals? Ok, sure! Twice a day insulin shots? Gotcha! Home we went with this precious, skinny little dog. Foster parents, they called us. We had no idea how much love and care had gone into this little dog until we got to know the SAP staff better. Shiloh became the light of our life! She was never big on other dogs. Trips to the dog park resulted in her going nose-to-nose with any dog. Size meant nothing. She has the heart of a lion. Then she met Sophie. Sophie lived next door, and would come and run circles around Shiloh, demanding that she play. Foreclosure forced Sophie to move away, and Shiloh would wait at the gate for her friend to come play for just a little while.
Do we get another dog? Shiloh’s a lot of work! High maintenance, you’d say. While at SAP early one morning, we heard a dog crying like it’s heart was breaking. We asked, and turns out a Chihuahua pair had come in the day before. Papa was staying there, and Mom was pregnant, and going to foster care. We looked at each other. We knew. We wanted a Chihuahua!
We followed her pregnancy as if it was our own dog! We knew that the puppies would go fast, and were thinking maybe Mom would need a home. When we found out the the wonderful foster family wanted Mom to stay with them, we waited for pictures of the puppies. The day that they were posted our hearts melted. Diamond! Her name is Diamond, and we want her to join our family! Her photo became wallpaper on our pc's. It was mailed to friends. It was shown to even casual acquaintences, and had it been on paper, would have been dog-eared. (no pun intended). Her name became Chloe.
The day that we got to meet her, there was no doubt. She was tiny. A little white diamond on the back of her head. We loved her. The new pictures from that day replaced her tiny baby picture. The wait began for her to reach spay weight, and we wished the ounces on her. The night before she was to come home to us, we looked at Shiloh, and laughed, because she was sleeping so peacefully, not knowing that she was not going to be our "Only Dog" the next day. Chloe was coming home.
We thought sweet little cuddly puppy. Chloe took a look at Shiloh, stomped her feet, and barked. She ran around the house, laying claim to all beds, all bones, all toys. She follows the 2 year olds rules of ownership. If I want it, it's mine. If you want it, it's still mine!
Now we watch her grow. We wish the ounces off, wanting her to stay her tiny, cuddly little self. Every night she climbs into the bed with Shiloh. These two are never really out of each others sight for long, unless a quick nap takes over. When they both need to be in the same lap during TV time, we have to laugh. Shiloh's health is even improving. Chasing toys in the yard, running from nipping teeth, and giving snuggles to her cat when they think no one's looking! Great exercise!
We're a happy family. We're loved, and we know what it is to truly love an animal. Our three are a delight every day! Watching them learn from each other, and learning from them that sometimes you just need to play. To relish the sunny spot on the couch. To get excited over a car ride, not knowing or caring the destination. Nights out have gladly been replaced with enjoying the back yard, watching them explore. We search for pet friendly destinations for a weekend away. Home is more like home.
We thank them for loving us, and we thank you for sharing them with us as well. For all of the support, care, and friendship, we can't thank Save-A-Pet enough. Our 3 landings couldn't be happier!

Slater played until after midnight with my Loo-Loo and Bull (Bull is different... I unusually figure if a rescue can get along with Bull, then he can get along with most anything...) Slater attached rather firmly with my Hubbie and 26 y/o son very quickly....
Hope you enjoy the short Vid of Loo and Slater (literally 2 minutes after a proper meeting) and the pics ;)

Eppe has made herself at home with out problems. She still barks furiously when someone is at the door, self appointed guard dog! But once someone is welcomed in by us, she is happy that she made a new friend.
It is sad to know that she already knew "Do you want to go for a ride?" "do you want to go on a walk?" "do you really think you belong in this bed?"
She is still afraid of the thunder and fireworks, out vet gave us something to take the edge off, enough to make her stop vibrating.
Eppe is the happiest when her "pack" is all home and accounted for.
She is a very loving girl, We love her and she is one of the family....forever.
